The largest local gathering of techies on the annual calendar starts today at the Shaw Conference Centre.
The 30th annual ICE tech conference, career fair and trade show, which wraps up Wednesday, features over 25 exhibitors, companies, organizations and educational service providers.
The event, sponsored by the Alberta chapter of the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), includes participants from such organizations as Oracle Corp., ATCO I-Tek, Acrodex, Alberta Blue Cross, Canadian Western Bank, NAIT, Alberta Health Services, Athabasca University, Optrics Engineering and the University of Alberta.
Speakers at the ICE conference include former Olympian, Paralympian and journalist Jeff Adams; Peter Doolan, an executive with U.S. tech giant Oracle Corp.; Dan Lyons, editor-in-chief of ReadWrite; and former Edmonton Journal reporter Shawn Ohler, who now works as a communications consultant with Story Engine.
