Five months after surviving a terrorist attack in a Paris concert hall, Eagles of Death Metal will head out on a Canadian tour with Death From Above 1979.
The two bands will perform Thursday, April 28 at the Shaw Conference Centre. Ticket prices have yet to be announced, but they’ll go on sale this Friday, Feb. 5.
Eagles of Death Metal were onstage at the Bataclan theatre on Nov. 13 when terrorists rushed in and shot and killed 89 people, including the band’s merchandise manager.
The California rockers, led by singer/guitarist Jesse Hughes, returned to Paris in December — to visit the Bataclan and perform at the second of U2’s concerts at the AccorHotels Arena.
Eagles of Death Metal will play several European shows in February and March — shows that were rescheduled after November’s terrorist attacks.
The band will head to Canada in April for nine dates — starting in Vancouver on April 26 — with noise-rock duo Death From Above 1979 and British rockers Turbowolf.
DFA1979 stars Jesse F. Keeler and Sebastien Grainger, who broke up in 2006, then reunited five years later. The Toronto-based pair released their second album, The Physical World, in 2014.
Both Death From Above 1979 and Eagles of Death Metal performed in Edmonton last year. DFA1979 played the Shaw Conference Centre in January, while Eagles of Death Metal appeared at Sonic Boom in September.
