Arthur Chen is the new face in charge of all that’s deliciously sweet at the Shaw Conference Centre. His most recent post was as pastry chef at the Delta Grand Okanagan in Kelowna.
According to a news release from the Edmonton Economic Development Corporation, Chen’s career has taken him around the world. Trained in Shanghai, he started as the Sheraton Tianjin’s pastry chef on its opening day. He spent two years at Walt Disney World and moved to Vancouver in 1997. After a decade at the Pan Pacific Hotel, Chen went on to help open the Delta Burnaby Hotel and Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver.
His creations have been showcased for dignitaries, including former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Prince William, and Queen Elizabeth II.
Over 243,000 meals are served annually by the Shaw Conference Centre.
