It Takes Two. Bust a Move. Ice, Ice Baby. I Wanna Sex You Up.
No, you’re not having a flashback from the Purple Onion. The dance floor ’90s are returning to Edmonton in the flesh in March in a chain-studded buffet concert that could practically be called a one-night festival.
Salt-N-Pepa, Vanilla Ice, Color Me Badd, Young MC, Rob Base and Spinderalla will each perform hits defining pre-millennial rap, hip-hop and R&B on the multi-date I Love the ’90s Tour, each city with a rotating selection of hitmakers. Our version of the event will take place at Shaw Conference Centre, on March 31, with doors at 7 p.m., show at 8:30 p.m.
Presented by the Kinsmen Club of Edmonton, tickets are $69 plus taxes and fees, and go one sale Monday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. at eventbrite.ca.
The outfits, performers and audience alike, promise to be fresh, at least in the sense of that word that used to mean completely awesome. What are you waiting for, Ninja Turtles — let’s roll!
